Geneva airport is just one hour from Chamonix and has flights from Dublin, Birmingham, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Southampton. Check their website for the latest as it changes all the time:

Lyon Airport (St Exupéry - code LYS), is 2.5 hours from Chamonix. Many airlines have flights into Lyon St Exupéry. (Then hire a car).

Turin airport in Italy is just 2 hrs away - thro the Mt Blanc tunnel.
There are regular flights from Birmingham and Stansted.

EasyJet has daily flights to Geneva from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Liverpool, East Midlands and London. Prices start from £45 return. Geneva is 1hr from Chamonix by a direct motorway.

From Airports to Chamonix

The train from Geneva to Chamonix is not a good service and takes around 3 hours, after you get on the train the other side of Geneva. But if you are an enthusiast have a look at the SBB (Swiss Railways) website

Geneva Airport - Buses to Chamonix There are normally several buses a day.

French (SAT) buses (to 17 april) are at: 0800h, 1100h,1545h, 1840h; + 1350h on fri/sat/sun.

SpeedFerries to cross the channel. At £50 return for a car and up to five people it is a great bargain. » www.speedferries.com

From Calais come past Rheims and Macon (not Paris). It's about 8 hours, 900km (560 m) and will cost around 75 €uros in motorway tolls.

Or come down the German motorways (free) and then the Swiss motorways via Basle - Lausanne - Martigny - Chamonix. The Swiss motorway sticker costs 40 Swiss francs and is valid for one calendar year.
